Pay off thy debt
To the uttermost
Lest ye forget
The Holy Ghost

Reconcile
And repent
That Lucifer
Might relent

Thy righteousness
Should far exceed
Those caught in darkness
Who have need of thee

Praising Heavenly Father
Do what is right
That with thy brother
Ye might not fight

Matthew 5

13 ¶ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

Oh, how the wind tossed
The disciples’ ship
As upon the sea they crossed
On a long evening trip

They were but small
Against this big windstorm
And yet they stood up tall
When they saw a nearing form

Who could this be?
But a bad spirit come
Floating on the sea
To take away someone

Distressed at the sight
They cried out in fear
But… walking in the night
T’was the Lord who drew near

Having fed five thousand
Out along the shore
He walked out from the sand
To teach us all but more…

With waves all around
Midst the buffeting sea
The Lord was safe and sound
“Do not fear,” out called He

Then Peter challenged
Could he walk there too?
Leaving the boat’s edge
This he sought to do

With his faith uplifted
He walked upon the sea
But soon his thoughts drifted
That, while sinking, he did plea

Then proving once again
Who is mighty to save
The Lord stretched forth His hand
And pulled him from his grave

When come into the ship
The mighty winds did cease
The disciples on this trip
Learned what put them at ease

They once again had proof
Of the power of the Master
The Son of God of a truth
Had saved them from disaster

We too are prone to cave
When in peril we are falling
Yet, He who is mighty to save
Hears each prayerful calling

Only misery and heartache awaits
Those who live their lives in transgression
For the world loveth their own and of God hate
Unto pride and stumbling for one’s progression

But man’s strength and power can be multiplied
By learning and observing the commandments of God
Thus becoming His Saints with sins denied
There to benefit those both near and abroad

We do not claim to be superior
But believe each problem is best solved
When we apply the plan that’s been set forth
There to be educated and spiritually evolved

Each contribution we make to this world
Lays an example that good might roll forth
That the gospel light might enlarge and unfurl
For each man to recognize a celestial worth

To do that which glorifies God does elevate
Unto being the salt of the earth full of savour
Where we put our light upon the hill to demonstrate
That our good works and deeds are from and for the Savior

In this day, as knowledge speedily unfolds
The world increases in confusion and unease
Let us remain brightly pure like unto gold
And from earthly impurities be refined and find peace

John 15:19
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Matthew 5:13-16

Oft While I Am Sleeping

Oft while I am sleeping
I forget that you are dead
And when the floor is creaking
I arize up from my bed

But, then I remember
And feel my loss anew
This precious time of slumber
Is my only time with you

Although you have departed
You’re heard inside my head
For I’m oft found warm hearted
By the past words you have said

Although I have five senses
That serve me all so well
It’s my sense of hearing
That makes my heart now swell

A fatherly impression
That is ever good and kind
Is made through conference sessions
Unto assurance there to find

As though priesthood hands are laying
Blessings extend sure and true
As from God- each sentence is saying:
“I love each and every one of you!”

Let us watch the Apostles speak
And imagine what their hands might do
For through them come blessings we seek
As in joy and purpose we renew
