GERMANYPainting of Jesus in the cathedral. Cross eyed??

His head in frame is like a lion,
With a main wavy, long, and thick;
His beard parts and points to Zion,
And from nose to forehead He’s one straight stick

His eyes are an emerald fire
His hair, the purest snow
In the likeness of our Father
His countenance is aglow

Above any flames’ pure brightness
He is the Light, the Life, the Way
His voice sounds as rushing waters
To be heard at any time of day

He is as promised, the first and the last
He lives on still, though He was slain
He is our redeemer on to whom we cast
Our worst troubles, for hope to gain
Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote: “His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:
“I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father” (D&C 110:3–4).

Ending the noise of the day

Anxiously Engaged

In your morning prayer
At the start of each new day

Seek our Father’s care

As one anxiously engaged

He will guide you to know
How to help someone in need

For therein blessings flow

As our faith and love does show

“In your morning prayer each new day, ask Heavenly Father to guide you to recognize an opportunity to serve one of His precious children. Then go throughout the day with your heart full of faith and love, looking for someone to help.”

17 - May - 2010 -- Falling Blossom
We are each a petal
Born of a family
Made to be special
And live happily
To be off on ones own one day
And, yet hold on a while
Life’s winds sail us away
Independence, a trial
The ups and downs, the spin
As turmoil ebbs and flows
Each alone in the end
To where? Only heaven knows
Some are carried quite far
Some fall not far from the tree
Each to seek who they are
What they are meant to be

Let Us Be As Job

Let us lay aside
Every weight we bear
And no longer hide
From our Father’s care

Let us be as Job
Patient in all ways
His faith did naught but grow
For all of His days

He had known great wealth
Blessed beyond measure
Then he lost his health
And all one could treasure

Still Job, then, honored
The trust He had been given
As strength he gathered
Through the hope of heaven

Sometimes life’s storm
Is bitter, with icy winds
And holds no comfort
While the trial descends

Then, our soul’s surface
May threaten to crack and crumble
If we’ve not with us
Faith’s foundation as one humble

Turn to the Savior
His invitation is to, “Come”
That as we labor
In the storm, we don’t grow numb

He offers us His word
And a Liahona of sorts
From its blessing is heard
A Patriarch’s words of comfort

Patience is required
To watch, pray, and wait
But you will be inspired
Unto spiritual strength

On Being Spiritually Prepared
President Thomas S. Monson
Ensign February 2010
