In the front of my house
With my aged dog at my side
Deaf, she did not arouse
To the coyote quick to hide

Knowing that my nearly blind, deaf dog won’t run off in her graying years, I let her roam (she loves to smell and leave her scent) when I get the mail. I guess this is a lesson on always using a leash with your dog. The coyote barked low around the corner. Sara was oblivious. She notices when I slap my leg and knows I am calling her. We went inside.

Can a person also be deaf and blind to danger? Who is there to warn us?
