Be not left behind
With the words you hold.
There is more to find-
Good news to unfold.

A record was saved
To bring to us light.
Of things that were said
By Jesus the Christ.

Great prophets were taught
And lessons were learned.
Then, through pride, they lost
That for which they yearned.

A righteous civilization
Soon wasted away!
For our education
We’ve their words today.

I have learned for myself

That the gospel is true.

The Book of Mormon helped

As it has promised to.

No one can conceive
His groan, as He knelt
And spoke of His grief
For Israel that He felt

He spoke on our behalf
Then bade us to arise
With joy for the faith we have
He wept before our eyes

As our children were before Him
He prayed for each, one by one
Aloud to our Father in Heaven
And wept again, such the tenderness of the Son

Of more joy, one could not suppose
But then angels descended from Heaven
Encircling our children, fire enclosed
While from them great blessings were given

3 Nephi 17

14 And it came to pass that when they had knelt upon the ground, Jesus groaned within himself, and said: Father, I am atroubledbecause of the wickedness of the people of the house of Israel.
15 And when he had said these words, he himself also aknelt upon the earth; and behold he bprayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him.

Together with the Bible
The Book of Mormon teaches us
How to live the gospel-
Through love for man and Jesus
I want to have more confidence
That He might speak through me
I want that grand experience
Of gathering His sheep

I lost my scriptures which had notes from cover to cover-
all my years of institute!  Hope they went into good hands.  I MISS them!

Tell that bedtime story
You tell again and again;
I never find it boring-
It has become my best friend.

Wrapped in blankets securely
I feel my eyes half close.
I picture it so surely-
I’m oft there, I suppose!

I’ve come to see what they saw
And know the things they knew.
Of their faith,  I am in awe-
I want to be like them, too!
——————————-
There is so much to discover
Inside this ancient book.
Read it from cover to cover-
It testifies… if we look!

What does a child need to know
From a parent- of this book?
Understanding, testimony, enthusiasm-
And the desire for themselves to look!
