Who Am I?

Who am I to receive something so beautiful,
So incredible before my face?
Who am I to taste of love, purely wondeful
In the scriptures, sweet to embrace?
The words so tailor made, just for me
I’m blessed with peace and joy to feel
I know unseen hands lead me to read
I am so grateful for this meal
For this feast, I pray, I kneel
For this comfort that does heal
Who am I? Yes. Who am I?
Who am I to be a member of His own church?
His fulness to find upon the earth
Who am I to know His love for me as I search
And witness anew joy and rebirth?
Living water does flow out from heaven
His covenants bless me to be pure
Through the priesthood that comes from Him
His Spirit lights me to endure
Humility is the cure
For forgiveness I am sure
Who am I? Yes.  Who am I?
Who am I to enter unto His holy house
To have His recommend mine to hold?
Who am I to claim the blessings the Lord endows
His light and knowledge bright to unfold?
To feel the touch of the Master’s hand
To hear Him speak and call me by name
To enter through, see, and understand
The highest blessing here to claim
I will never be the same
As one blessed with a new name
Who am I?  Yes. Who am I?
Who am I to receive a call in this great work
Blessed with strength to follow through?
Who am I to find, through Him, I am of worth
As He confirms all that I should do?
To be His hands to lift someone up
To be His voice that someone might hear
To proclaim His words that all might sup
My debt to God becomes more clear!
I lift my voice and give cheer
I know our Savior is near
Who am I? Yes.  Who am I?

Born of Christ
We bear His name
Filled with light
Faith’s embers flame
Ever mercy
He supplies
He of meekness
Purifies
Through covenants
We follow Him
Strength He sends
Freely given
He is the Way
To Our Home
Through Him we pray…
And we’re shown
Free to choose
The perfect plan
The Good News

Forgiveness & Peace Through Jesus Christ

And they had viewed themselves
in their own carnal state,
even less than the dust of the earth.

And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying:
O have mercy, and apply
the atoning blood of Christ
that we may receive forgiveness of our sins,
and our hearts may be purified;
for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
who created heaven and earth, and all things;
who shall come down among the children of men.

And it came to pass that
after they had spoken these words
the Spirit of the Lord came upon them,
and they were filled with joy,
having received a remission of their sins,
and having peace of conscience,
because of the exceeding faith which they had
in Jesus Christ who should come.
(Mosiah 4:2-3)

And now, because of the covenant which ye have made
ye shall be called the children of Christ,
his sons, and his daughters; for behold,
this day he hath spiritually begotten you;
for ye say that your hearts are changed
through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him
and have become his sons and his daughters.
(Mosiah 5:7)

Take The Name Of Christ

There is no other name given
whereby salvation cometh;
therefore, I would that
ye should take upon you
the name of Christ,
all you that have entered
into the covenant with God
that ye should be obedient
unto the end of your lives.
And it shall come to pass
that whosoever doeth this shall be
found at the right hand of God,
for he shall know
the name by which he is called;
for he shall be called
by the name of Christ.

>Savior Lord this blessed hour
We’ve come to watch and pray with Thee
To heed Thy words and emplore
The Holy Ghost, in us, to speak

“Watch and pray,” Thou asked that night
Of Thine disciples long ago
As Thou, who art filled with light,
Went where no man would or could go

Here we seek to understand
What Thou would have us do each day
Continually, to withstand
The temptations we tend to disobey

Help us endure, to the end
Along the straight and narrow way
With love for God, and all man
And gratitude, for Thee, always

The Saviour while instituting the sacrament among the Nephites.

3 Nephi 18: 15 He says: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye must watch and pray always, lest ye be tempted by the devil, and ye be led away captive by him.”

>These holy emblems
Teach us of Christ,
Of His atonement,
And sacrifice

The Savior wants us
To remember
All the commandments
He the exemplar

We come to partake
Through repentance
In Him to awake
To our covenants

With the emblems of
His flesh and blood
We partake of love
Ever pure to flood

He the chosen one
Was without sin
He, God’s Son, alone
Had strength within

In an upstairs room
They soon to dine
He taught what loomed
Tore bread and poured wine

In the bits of bread
His ransom lay
Through His blood shed
Sins wash away

We have grateful hearts
Feeling so blessed
His love imparts
Cleansing, peace, and rest

Through this ordinance
We, God, acclain
To obey hence
And take Christs’ name

Prayerful and reverant
With thoughts made pure
Through the sacrament
We have strength to endure

>Along the wayside
For anyone to see
Christ was crucified
Secured to a cross beam

The pain He suffered
Was for each of us
Perfectly offered
The heavens withdrew thus

Great storm clouds billowed
Darkening the sky
He said, “It is Finished”
They pierced His heart and side

His body soon lay
In a sepulchre
Till on that morning day
Angels rolled the stone away

Those seeking for Him
Can learn for themselves
He truly is risen
And can save us from ourselves

He knows each weakness
Sorrow, pain, and sin
In glory and meekness
He can cleanse us from within

All He asks of us
Is that we follow
In consecration, thus
And remember Him below

We had a strengthening sacrament meeting
Each could come up and talk about their
favorite Hymn and we then sang one verse.
